Defected To Depart Pacha Ibiza.

Defected Ibiza To Leave Pacha
After eight seasons at Pacha, the much respected London based House label, Defected, which was founded by Simon Dunmore and Ministry Of Sound in 1999, is rumoured to be leaving Pacha. The Saturday night party, which featured quality artists such as Denis Ferrer, Bob Sinclare, David Morales, Solomun, Frankie Knuckles and founder Simon Dunmore, has been struggling in recent years to attract the big crowds required at the club. In an ever changing and highly competitive Ibiza market, promoters are now having to work even harder to try and keep their parties fresh and relevant. The Defected sound is a smooth and sophisticated one, with soulful vocals and deep house beats, which have traditionally attracted an older and more trendier clientèle. It was ideally suited to Pacha, but its Saturday night slot was doing the party no favours, as it is regarded as the quietest night on the Island. It is not know what club Defected will associate with next season as it embarks on its twelfth year in Ibiza, but leading suitors would be Danny Whittles new club, Ushuaia, Privilege and maybe even Sankeys. Although no official news of the move has been confirmed by either Pacha or Defected, it is rumoured that the Saturday night Defected Party, will be one of the nights on the short-list for a major shake up of music policy at Pacha, after the departure of its programme director Danny Whittle. Defected did not comment on the story when contacted by the blog. Only last week, the Blog published a story that Tiesto may be leaving the Club also. With Luciano also a doubtful runner for the Pacha stable next season, the Club may be lacking a quality House party that is not EDM for 2013. The blog will post updates on the Pacha story soon.
